All updates:
(November 26, 2025) Update -- I'm starting to suspect that this seedling may just be averse to being grafted. The callus has become gnarly, the graft has stalled and is pale, and the roots keep sending up strong shoots from below ground that I've been removing. I've added a thick layer of rich potting mix below the existing root ball, and brought it into the greenhouse to encourage more growth.
(August 29, 2025) Update -- The graft is still alive, but does not look healthy and the graft union is gnarly with callus, so maybe this tree just really doesn't want to be grafted.
(May 20, 2025) Update -- Graft appears to have taken.
(May 1, 2025) Update -- The graft looks like it's beginning bud swell!
(April 14, 2025) Grafted -- Just added a graft of Prince

(January 9, 2025) Update -- Very minimal freeze damage. Graft failed since the last update.
(December 29, 2023) Graft update -- Just added a graft of Long South Gate.
(December 8, 2023) Frost update -- Most of the tender leaves were killed by 28°F, but older leaves show almost no damage.
