Seed appeared to only have a crack on one side, so I cut a second crack to make it go all the way around.
This tree does not have any grafts on it.

(January 22, 2026) #401 closer look -- January 2nd, 2026 (I think I made a mistake on the date of the last update. It should have been January 2nd, 2026!) Here is closer look at the top of #401 after the couple of frosts here. It does appear the topmost growing tips were burnt, but not all the way!

(January 22, 2026) #401 early winter update -- January 2nd, 2025 #401 after two light frosts. There appears to be some browning on some leaves, but honestly I am unsure if the burnt looking bits are from the (very) light freeze/frosts we have had here in South Puget Sound, WA.
