Seed from Marta, accidentally broke in half shortly after germination, this is the more vigorous of the two initially.
This tree does not have any grafts on it.
All updates:
(February 8, 2025) Inter-freeze update -- After a few weeks of intermittent mild to moderate freezes (lowest temperature of 25.7°F/-3.5°C), this tree shows some damage but seems mostly happy.
(January 9, 2025) Update -- Mild freeze damage, including slight leaf curling, but otherwise healthy enough.
(September 16, 2024) Update -- Slow to get started but then it has grown very well the second half of summer.
(April 20, 2024) Update -- One of only a few of the outdoor potted trees to have survived the January freeze. Starting to bud out.
(January 26, 2024) Removing from available -- Damaged enough that it isn't fit for distribution.
(January 19, 2024) Freeze update -- Leaves look killed, stem shows some damage but might have OK buds further down. Was under loose fleece near the house for the freeze.
(December 8, 2023) Frost update -- Slight leaf damage from 28°F.
