Obtained from UC South Coast Research Grove. Sometimes it is spelled 'Northrop'. Consistently among the least damage of any grafted variety tested outside. Seems to be hardier than either of its rootstocks.

Freeze update2024-01-17 03:55:27This variety fared much better than either of its rootstocks, and might need to be regrafted.
Update2023-12-30 07:47:56Looks like the buds are already beginning to swell ahead of spring. Too early to say for sure, but could potentially be flower buds.
Frost update2023-12-15 23:32:15Minimal damage so far from a winter low of 28°F.
