It has been protected for the only freezes below 20°F since grafting, but has survived many milder freezes with only mild damage to rootstock stems.

(May 30, 2025) Update -- Both the rootstock and the Poncho graft are pushing a nice flush this spring as we head into early summer.

(January 17, 2025) Pre-freeze update -- Both rootstock and graft are looking slightly pale, but no signs of freeze damage yet.
